I started running four years ago after giving birth to my daughter, as I wanted to lose the baby weight.

I started with 4 to 5km three times a week, and eventually increased this to 10km and 21km distances.

Last year I ran the Soweto marathon, my first 42.2km. It wasn’t easy, but I wanted to test my mental strength.

I was so happy with my achievement! Now, I’m looking to improve my time and it will be my birthday gift to myself as I’ll be turning 40 on race day!
